2. What Data We Collect

We collect the following when you register and use Taprio:

  • Account data: Name, email address, phone number, password (hashed)
  • Profile data: Photo, profession, bio, social links, website URLs
  • Order data: Shipping address, delivery phone (for NFC card orders)
  • Analytics data: Profile views, link clicks, lead form submissions
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type (for security and analytics)
  • Lead data: Names, emails, phone numbers submitted by people who fill your lead capture form

We do not collect payment card details directly — all payments are processed via Razorpay, which has its own privacy policy.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To create and manage your digital visiting card profile
  • To deliver NFC cards to your shipping address
  • To send you email notifications about leads and account activity
  • To show you analytics about your profile performance
  • To prevent fraud, abuse and unauthorised access
  • To improve Taprio's features and fix bugs
  • To communicate with you about your account or orders

4. What We Never Do

We are very clear about this:

  • We never sell your data to any third party
  • We never run advertisements on Taprio — no ad networks, no tracking pixels
  • We never share your data with marketing companies
  • We never share your leads with anyone — leads on your profile belong entirely to you

5. Data Sharing

We only share data with:

  • Razorpay — payment processing only (card orders)
  • Shipping partners — name, phone and address for NFC card delivery only
  • Hostinger — our hosting provider (server infrastructure)
  • Law enforcement — only if legally required by Indian law

6. Your Profile is Public

Your Taprio digital card profile (name, photo, profession, social links, etc.) is publicly accessible at your profile URL (e.g. taprio.in/yourname). This is the core functionality of the product — anyone with the link can view your profile. Do not add information you don't want publicly visible.

You can delete or hide your profile at any time from your dashboard settings.

7. Cookies

We use a single essential cookie — your session token — to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. There is no cookie consent banner because we only use technically necessary cookies.

8. Data Security

We protect your data using:

  • HTTPS encryption on all pages
  • Bcrypt password hashing (cost factor 12)
  • Brute force login protection
  • Session tokens stored in the database with expiry
  • No sensitive data stored in browser localStorage

9. Data Retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your profile, links and personal data within 30 days. Lead data you collected from your profile visitors is deleted with your account. Order records may be kept for up to 3 years as required by Indian tax law.

10. Your Rights

Under Indian data protection principles, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data — download from your dashboard
  • Correct your data — update anytime from your dashboard
  • Delete your account and all data — from dashboard settings or by emailing us

11. Children's Privacy

Taprio is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it immediately.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email. Continued use of Taprio after changes means you accept the updated policy.
